Rules for admitting foreigners

Admission of foreigners and apolides (hereinafter referred to as foreigners) of Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mykhailo Tugan-Baranovsky (DonNUET) is realized according to the Law of Ukraine On Legal Status of Foreigners and Apolides (as amended), Ukraine’s Presidential Decree No 112 On Measures of Economic Cooperation Development between Ukrainian Regions and Contiguous Borderlands of Russian Federation of March 25th, 1994 and No 271 On Measures of Economic Cooperation Development between Ukrainian Regions and Contiguous Regions of Republic of Belarus and Administrative-territorial Units of Republic of Moldova of June 3rd, 1994, Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No 136 On Foreign Citizens’ Study in Ukraine (as amended) of February 26th, 1993 and No 1238 On Approval of the Provision on Foreigners’ and Apolides’ Admission to Higher Educational Institutions for Study of August 5th, 1998.

Foreigners who come to Ukraine for study, enter the DonNUET on accredited educational programs (specialties).

Admission of foreign students to study at the expense of individual or legal entity is carried out:

  • twice a year, before and at the beginning of the academic semesters (but not later than on November 1 and March 1, respectively), for obtaining a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree;
  • during the year for training in the preparatory department;
  • throughout the year for postgraduate (PhD) study.

Acceptance of documents from foreigners for obtaining a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, is carried out in the period from July 1, 2019 to October 11, 2019.

The interview takes place from July 01, 2019 to October 25, 2019.

Admission to study by interview results and on the basis of a signed agreement - until November 1, 2019.

The university calculates the entry points based on the document on the previous level of education.

DonNUET named after Mykhailo Tugan-Baranovsky calculates scores / assessments of the admissions on the basis of the document on the previous education level and sets the minimum amount of points / grades from the general subjects from which the entrance examination is conducted.

Admission of foreigners to study at the appropriate level of higher education is based on the results of entrance examinations with specified subjects, languages and instruction and on the basis of the academic rights of continuing education, provided by the document on the acquired level of education in the country of its origin, and taking into account the success rates that give the right to continue education at the next level of higher education in accordance with the legislation of the country that issued the document on the acquired degree (level) of education.

Foreigners are enrolled on the basis of interviews with a foreign language (English, German or French) and a language of instruction (Ukrainian language and literature) for obtaining the bachelor's degree.

Foreigners are accepted for the master's degree by the results of entrance examinations in specialty and foreign language.

All categories of foreigners enrolled in the studies are credited to the DonNUET named after Mikhailo Tugan-Baranovsky on the basis of enrollment orders that are formed in the Unified Base.

The requirements of the University regarding the correspondence of foreigners arriving to Ukraine for the purpose of studying, the conditions for admission to the corresponding levels of higher education, as well as the terms for accepting applications and documents, conducting entrance examinations, creative contests and enrollment are specified in the Admission Rules and made public on the official web Site DonNUET named after Mikhailo Tugan-Baranovsky.

Foreigners who receive state scholarships under international agreements, national programs and other international obligations of Ukraine are admitted to study within the established quotas for foreigners on the basis of training placement by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Foreigners who come to Ukraine to participate in academic mobility programs or educational programs between Ukrainian universities and foreign higher education institutions are accepted for study on contractual obligations of the University.

Foreign Ukrainians who stay in Ukraine legally and their status is certified by a certificate of a foreign Ukrainian have the same rights to receive education as citizens of Ukraine with the exceptions established by the Constitution of Ukraine, the laws of Ukraine or international treaties, the consent to be binding was provided by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Foreign Ukrainians, whose status is certified by a certificate of a foreign Ukrainian, can be enrolled for study following state orders within the established quotas for foreigners according to the results of entrance examinations on the subjects stipulated by the Rules of admission.

Foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Ukraine, persons who have been granted refugee status in Ukraine, and those who require additional or temporary protection and enter higher education institutions, in accordance with the rules provided for in these Conditions for citizens of Ukraine, may take part in the competitive selection of places for public procurement within the limits set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the basis of a special competitive score, which is calculated as the ratio of the entrant's competitive ball determined in accordance with paragraph 7 .8 of Section VII of these Rules of Admission, to the minimum bidding point for the submission of recommendations for the place of the state (regional) order in the general competition for this tender in the previous year (in the absence of such a ball the same indicator is used for another, as closely as possible, tender within the institution higher education, in case of impossibility - another institution of higher education by the decision of the Admissions Committee).
